According to Met Éireann, the national forecaster, today will begin with wet and windy conditions, particularly in Cork and Kerry where a Status Yellow rain warning was in effect until 8 am. However, as the day progresses, the weather is expected to improve from the west, with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers. Temperatures will range from 10 to 13 degrees Celsius, accompanied by moderate to fresh winds that should ease later in the day.

Tonight, scattered showers will persist, potentially intensifying into heavy and thundery rain, with the chance of hail and sleet on high ground by morning. Overnight temperatures will drop to zero to four degrees Celsius.

Tomorrow is anticipated to be cold and bright, featuring sunshine and showers, some of which could be heavy with hail and the possibility of thunder. Afternoon temperatures will be noticeably cooler, ranging from five to eight degrees Celsius, with moderate to fresh southwest to west winds, stronger in the southwest. Tomorrow night will see further rainfall, with temperatures falling to zero to three degrees Celsius, bringing a touch of frost.

Friday Forecast: Thunderstorms Possible Amid Cooler Weather

Friday will continue the trend of cooler weather, offering sunny spells interspersed with showers, some of which may be heavy with hail and thunder. Afternoon temperatures will hover around five to eight degrees Celsius before dropping to between minus one and plus three degrees Celsius overnight, potentially leading to frost and ice formation.
