Dubois Shines as Kings Extend Winning Streak
Pierre-Luc Dubois showcased his scoring prowess with a pair of goals as the Los Angeles Kings extended their winning streak to four games, defeating the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-1 at Crypto.com Arena on Tuesday.
Dubois, formerly with the Blue Jackets before joining the Kings, demonstrated his offensive prowess against his former team. Quinton Byfield and Drew Doughty also contributed with a goal and an assist each, while goaltender Cam Talbot made 33 saves to secure the victory for the Kings (28-16-10).
Kings Flourish Under Hiller’s Leadership; Blue Jackets Fall Short
The Kings have been enjoying success since the appointment of Jim Hiller as coach on Feb. 2, boasting a record of 5-1-0 under his leadership.
Despite a strong effort from the Blue Jackets, who saw Adam Boqvist score and goaltender Elvis Merzlikins make 31 saves, they couldn’t overcome the offensive onslaught from the Kings.

“We knew after the All-Star break, the League just gets harder and harder,” remarked Columbus coach Pascal Vincent, acknowledging the challenges his team faces in the competitive NHL.
Byfield opened the scoring for the Kings late in the first period with a remarkable solo effort, showcasing his skill and agility by maneuvering past defenders before slotting the puck home.
Dubois Leads Kings’ Charge, Fiala and Doughty Seal Victory
Dubois continued the onslaught in the second period, netting his first goal of the night on the power play, followed by another tally later in the period to extend the Kings’ lead to 3-1.
Kevin Fiala and Doughty added to the Kings’ lead in the third period, sealing the victory with strong performances on both ends of the ice.
Special Teams Key in Kings’ Victory; Arvidsson Injured
Special teams played a crucial role in the game, with the Kings converting on both of their power-play opportunities, while the Blue Jackets failed to capitalize on their chances with the man advantage.
Despite the win, the Kings suffered a setback with forward Viktor Arvidsson exiting the game early due to a lower-body injury. His status remains uncertain, pending further evaluation by the medical staff.
With the win, the Kings continue to solidify their position in the standings, while the Blue Jackets look to bounce back from the loss in their upcoming games.
